View last changes
Highlights, right inside the document, of what changed since the last saved version.
How to reach it
The eye button next to Compare Versions in the version rail. It's off by default and your choice persists across files and app restarts. The button only appears when the open file has at least one committed version or snapshot to compare against.
What gets highlighted
- Added lines are highlighted in place.
- A modified line shows its new text, highlighted.
- Deletions are never shown — this view only marks what is present now and new.
Unchanged text around a highlight stays exactly where it is, so you read a change in its surrounding context rather than as an isolated diff.
What it compares against
The baseline depends on the file:
| File | Baseline |
|---|---|
| Git-tracked, with uncommitted changes | The last commit (HEAD) |
| Git-tracked, no uncommitted changes | The parent of the current commit |
| Not in a Git repository | The newest snapshot |
Navigating
Rail markers on the right edge of the document mark where each change is. Click one to scroll that change into the top quarter of the viewport, rather than straight to the very top, so you can see what comes before it too.
Limits
- Deletions are never shown, only additions and modifications.
- Works on
.yamland.jsonfiles too, marking changed keys and values by their raw byte ranges rather than rendered content.
